Laura began her career in the financial industry over 30 years ago, rising to the positions of Controller and Chief Financial Officer before returning to school to pursue personal financial planning. In 2020, she founded Atlas Fiduciary Financial before joining Wealth Enhancement in 2024.
Laura plays an active role in the Sarasota community, serving as a board member, treasurer, and investment committee chair for the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. She founded the Women’s Money Empowerment program at the Women’s Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) organization in Sarasota where she volunteers her time. In her book, Gender on Wall Street: Uncovering Opportunities For Women In Financial Services, Laura advocates for women in the finance profession. Through her podcast, Money Matriarchs, she inspires women to harness the power of money as a catalyst for positive change in their lives, families, communities, and beyond.
Laura has authored peer-reviewed research on gender, widowhood, and the advisory profession, and regularly contributes to media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, MarketWatch, USA Today, InvestmentNews, MSN, and ABC News. She is a two-time TEDx speaker and is passionate about enhancing the standards for financial advisors. As part of this commitment, Laura has served as an educator and mentor for over two decades, imparting knowledge to future CFP® professionals at several esteemed universities — including a pivotal role in creating a new CFP® registered program at the University of South Florida through collaborative work with the Florida Board of Governors and the CFP Board.
Laura resides and works in Sarasota, Florida, alongside her husband and two daughters.
